JUDAH EAGER TO TAKE MORE FROM SHOW ME STATE'S FINEST

Alexander-Judah coming soon?

Former two division champion Zab "Super" Judah is ready, willing and able to improve to 2-0 with 2 stoppage victories over "the best that St. Louis has to offer." Judah, who stopped then undisputed welterweight champion Cory Spinks in nine rounds in front of a capacity crowd exceeding 22,000 St. Louisans in February 2005 is ready to put on a repeat performance. "I'm ready to do it again," said Judah, "Devon might have two belts, but everybody in tha Lou knows I'm their boss of boxing. Devon looked good against Urango, but I'm not Urango and I don't see him going more than 5 rounds with me. I'm going to make it a real early night in tha Lou. I'm going to make it do what it do and take his belts just like snatched Cory's. I already told Timothy Bradley to stay away from my meat. After I feed on Devon, then Tiny Tim is allowed to mention my name if wants to take his first L fighting for two new belts."

BOXINGTALK'S DAILY BREAD
By Stephen Edwards

I read this morning that Vitali Klitscho will be fighting a Polish fighter named Sonsonki (or something like that). Do you think this is only happening because the powers that be are building a fight between Vitali and Adamek? Adamek has his hands full against Arreola, but I see his boxing skills giving him the edge. Your thoughts?

Bread’s Response: I just put a similar but not exact plan of attack in my last mailbag for building a Bradley/Alexander fight. I say yes good move. Boxing is an ethnic and regional sport and it should be marketed that way. I think you will see more of that in the near future. Adamek has a large following from the Polish community. If Vitali beats a Polish fighter with a good record then the Polish will want Adamek to get revenge. Brilliant! I love it. Every fight has an angle, good promoters and managers just have to find it. This has been done before. Remember Roger Mayweather started beating a lot of Mexican fighters. He secured a rematch with Chavez on that angle. They are attempting to market a Alexander/Judah fight  from the same angle since Judah kod Spinks in the LOU.Adamek /Arreola is going to be a tough fight. I cant give my winner now I have to watch Adamek/ Estrada again.

BOXINGTALK'S DAILY BREAD
By Stephen Edwards

Breadman REAL TALK...Devon Alexander showed a good fight on saturday but if he goes against ZAB, BRADLEY or even HATTON he will lose, If URANGO was a little faster and moved his head more there would have been a different outcome. DA's problem is that if you watch the fight again he pulls back on some of his punches and when you go up against one of the cream of the crop jr welters that will be a big mistake in combination with the fact that he is not a good counter puncher I find it hard to believe that he can stop one of the top juniors. He's strong, powerful and fast but he really needs to put pressure on some of these guys to stop them and I just don't see that, he fights with hesitation whether it's mental or physical that will be a big problem when he's toe to toe. Bread’s Response: Wow your really hard too impress. I thought Devon did an excellent job. If you have observed the criticism of Andre Dirrell. Most in the know say he looks like he is running when he is BOXING. Well you never get that impression from Devon. Dirrell’s people should have him watch that tape of Devon. I guess the judges of the fight were hard too impress also. One judge had Devon up by 1 round and another had Urango up. Authorities should put a watch on both judges bank accounts for large cash deposits. Im serious when I say that.  I actually text Greg Rowe and G. Leon as the fight was going on and stated that Devon should pin his left hand on his temple because he was getting caught with that right hook. So I understand the kid didn’t fight a perfect fight but he did a Great job against a quality guy that has never been stopped. There are a few things Devon does that I don’t like but he is still improving. Right now as he sits, I favor him to stop both Zab and Hatton and he and Bradley are even money brother. Devon is top 20 p4p in the world and we should appreciate him.

Bernard Hopkins: "Well, what he said is that he's going to be absolutely ready. He wants to rejuvenate his career and he wants to do it off of me, so I got to make sure that doesn't happen. I'm looking for it to be a tough fight on both ends because we both have something to prove. Now that he has two hands that's good, because he always says he had a bad hand when he beat me. But now he has two hands and hopefully they stay healthy, so he can try and do what he said he would have done the first time. I'm excited. I'm training hard and we're a few weeks away and I'm just having fun here training. I enjoy doing what I do and I love my job, so this is nothing but fun to me."

I brought Julio Jr to the training session yesterday to show Julio what it means to train hard, to become a world class fighter and Julio Jr couldn't believe what he was seeing. BOXINGTALK'S MONDAY MAILBAG
By Doveed Linder

I agree with you in the fact that I am also picking Mosley to defeat mayweather. Everybody that defeated Shane Mosley had a rough time doing so. it dosent matter how good a fighter is. If the fighter is not picking his opponents, and that fighter is fighting the best opposition their will come a time in that fighters career where his skills won't matter. It will be about nuts and guts. I believe Mosley will be Mayweathers 1st gut check opponent. Ray Williams

Linder’s Response: Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright didn’t have a rough time with Mosley the first time they faced him, but I also think that Mosley is capable of a little bit more than what he showed in those fights.  Yes, this is Mayweather’s first gut check and I agree that this fight will come down to heart and determination, opposed to skills.

 BOXINGTALK'S SCORECARD
By Alex Stone @ Ringside

Devon Alexander TKO8 Juan Urango – Tonight at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT. Devon Alexander scored a brutal knockout over Juan Urango to successfully defend his WBC 140-pound title and, in addition, take Urango's IBF title as well. The fight was great while it lasted, and featured some great back and fourth action up until the stoppage. Alexander controlled the first round with his crisp jab and was simply the busier fighter. The second round featured some great right hooks by Urango as he seemed to take the round In the third, Urango was cut over the left eye but again seemed to control the action of the round and land some clean power shots. The fourth round showed Urango again landing some good shots, but it was clear that Alexander was beginning to time the right hook of Urango and make him pay with series of clean straight lefts. In round five, Urango began to establish  a very good body attack, as it seemed to temporarily slow down Alexander.
