The WBA purse bid for Daniel Roman's 122-pound title defense against Murodjon Akhmadaliev of Uzbekistan was held on Tuesday at the WBA headquarters in Panama City.  The bid was won by the challenger's promoter, World of Boxing, a Russian entity which was represented by Oleg Igorevich Kovalchuk. The winning bid was US $145,000, to be split between the two boxers according to WBA rules. Workd of Boxing listed three possible dates for the fight: September 14th in Los Angeles, September 21st in Tashkent, Uzbekistan or September 28th in St. Petersburg, Russia. According to the regulations of the WBA, World of Boxing has twenty days to send in signed contracts.
