Weigh-in report from Seoul

WBA super featherweight champion Hyun Mi Choi returns to the ring tonight (Saturday) to face Brazil's Simone Da Silva(17-16) at Dong-Du-Cheon City, in Seoul, South Korea. [It will be a very soft title defense as Da Silva has lost three in a row]. The official weigh-in for the event took place and the champion weighed 130 pounds, while the challenger stopped the scales at 129.9. The North Korean-born Choi is one of the longest reigning WBA title holders and when she steps into the ring she will attempt to defend her 130-pound title for the tenth time. She was also 126-pound champion in a two-division reign that has spanned from 2008 pro debut to the present.

She will meet an experienced Brazilian who has already had world title fights and has fought opponents of the caliber of Amanda Serrano. The [over-matched] South American has little to lose and arrives in Korea with a great opportunity on her hands.
