Oscar Valdez has vacated the WBO featherweight championship and the organization has ordered the vacant title to be contested by former Olympian Shakur Stevenson and Joet Gonzalez. Both men are undefeated. Stevenson is from Newark, New Jersey and is promoted by Top Rank. Gonzalez is from Los Angeles and is promoted by Golden Boy. The parteis have thirty days to negotiate and reach an agreement, and if none is reached, a purse bid will be ordered with a minimum bid of $150,000 to be split among the boxers.
