Thulani Mbenge W10 Kuvesa Katembo ... In Soweto, on the second South African boxing card since the pandemic, welterweight Thulani Mbenge returned from more than a year's absence, defeating Kuvesa Katembo (13-3-1) by scores of 100-91, 98-92 and 98-93. Mbenge began the fight cautiously but dominated with his jab. Katembo, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, bravely in tried to counter the local fighter without much success. Mbenge (16-1) has notable victories over Diego Chaves and Miguel Vázquez.

Angel Ayala KO2 Luis Castro ... Mexican flyweight Angel “Camaleon” Ayala (9-0, 5 KOs) got a second-round knockout of Luis “Chapo” Castro (18-5-2, 13 KOs) with a crunching left hook to the liver  at The Jardines de Pedregal Room, in Hermosillo, Mexico on Friday night. Ayala used his considerable height and reach advantage to dominate round one, attacking from the outset, first with his jab and then with combinations from long range. The end came in the second round, when Ayala set up Castro with a hard right and then, he landed a perfect left hook to his opponent`s liver.
