Omar Figueroa talks about Saturday's fight vs. Yordenis Ugas

Justin Hackman: Omar, how's everything going days ahead of your [WBC welterweight elimination] fight with Yordenis Ugas [this Saturday in Las Vegas on the Fox pay-per-view broadcast]? Omar Figueroa: Everything is going amazingly well. I can honestly say that this is one of the best camps ever, maybe the best. My conditioning, my weight, my whole camp from start to finish was amazing.

JH: You once told me that you like to feel what kind power your opponent is bringing to the table. Will this fight be any different for you?

OF: Well it's not that I specifically like to get hit, but I like to know where I'm at, and what kinds of shots I can take. I'm not going to purposefully take shots, but you will see the same aggressive Omar Figueroa coming to trade.

JH: Is this the toughest test of your career?

OF: Maybe. But it's not as though that has been something I've been focused on necessarily. I am focused on myself and what I need to do to win. My hands feel great, my body feels great, and I'm ready to go.

JH: So what do you need to do to beat Yordenis Ugas on Saturday?

OF: I come into every fight the same. Are you gonna trade with me, or am I gonna have to chase you down? I'm prepared for both. Either way, I know I'm capable of beating any fighter on any night. It's gonna be a great fight.

JH: Closing thoughts?

OF: I appreciate your support as always, and get ready for a great performance.
