Lomachenko blitzes Crolla

Vasyl Lomachenko TKO4 Anthony Crolla... At Los Angeles' Staples Center, WBO/WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, the Ukrainian superstar, retained his titles in dominant fasion against Manchester, Engalnd's Anthony Crolla.  Lomachenko hammered a right hand to the gut of Crolla at the bell that ended round two. Crolla's reaction confirmed that that body blow was indeed the punctuation on a what was a decided six-minute beating up to that point-- certainly, it felt like the beginning of the end.  Sure enough, Crolla’s face and demeanor in round three expressed that he has never seen anything like Lomachenko (not too many have).  At the end of the thrid, an exntended Loamchenko combination led to a knockown when the referee ruled the ropes were keeping Crolla upright. Brief confusion ensued when commission officials entered the ring thinking the fight had been stopped. A Lomachenko right hook halfway through round four not-so mercifully ended matters for Crolla. He was thoroughly overmatched.  Lomachenko’s mastery of speed, accuracy, distance and timing is something fascinating to behold.  Lomachenko improves to 13-1 with 10 KOs as Crolla drops to 34-7 with 13 KOs.  Official time of the stoppage: 58 seconds in round four.

Afteerwards, the champion said, "I want to fight with [WBC lightweight champion] Mikey Garcia [who just lost a welterweight title bid], but we'll see. I don't know," Lomachenko said. "I stay at 135 as long as it's possible, and I want to unify all {the} titles." source: espn2 / top rank
