Pablo Corzo TKO3 Fernando Brito... With knockdowns from both corners, tense exchanges, plus a lively audience in Catamarca, Argentina, local suoer middleweight Pablo Corzo (13-0) defeated Venezuela's Fernando Brito (10-1) by technical knockout in the third round. In the win, Corzo experienced the first knockdown of his career.  In an exchange of attacks that turned the first round into one to remember, both landed cleanly on each other’s chin, one causing Brito’s retreat to the ropes and another engendering Corzo’s fall. Brito returned to his corner with a bloody nose.

By the second round, Corzo recovered thanks to his good physical condition, and he returned the favor with a knockdown of Brito that left Brito short of breath and with a nosebleed that would not subside. Corzo kept at a long and medium distance to connect with quick combinations for the rest of round two. At the start of the third round, Brito was slow to come out and the ring authority applied the rules and started counting in the corner. Thhat led to a Corzo win by technical knockout.

Francis Frometa TKO8 Javier Herrera ... Over the weekend, Francis Frometa (17-0) of the Dominican Republic defeated Argentina's Javier Herrera (17-7-1) by technical knockout in the eighth round. The lightweight bout was held in Montevideo, Uruguay. In his first international fight, Frometa showed boxing style with good arm reach and coordinated foot movements. With a speedy jab keying his combinations, Frometa managed to weaken Herrera, who was trying to shorten the distance and bring the fight in close. From the sixth round on, Frometa was able to rock Herrera with his combinations. By round eight, the wear and tear was evident and Herrera's corner threw in the towel.
