Jeison Rosario stops Julian Williams for two junior middleweight titles

Jeison Rosario TKO5 Julian Williams... A huge upset has occurred in Philadelphia as little-known Jeison Rosario of the Dominican Republic punished Julian Williams in Williams' hometown to win the WBA and IBF junior middleweight championships. Williams was unable to handle Rosario's punching power, and a cut on his left eyelid sustained in round two only made matters worse. The cut was caused by Rosario's jab. Williams went down in round five in what was ruled a slip, but Williams had a hard time standing up because his legs were so unsteady. A few seconds after the action resumed, Rosario landed the finishing combination, a damaging right uppercut followed by a left hook that convinced referee Benji Estevez to award the technical knockout to Rosario. The uppercut caused Williams' eyes to roll back. Punchstats had Rosario outlanding Williams, 65 punches to 58, but it was the power of Rosario, not the volume of punches that made the difference. As the belts were put on Rosario, the new champion broke down in tears. Williams was classy in defeat, refusing to blame the loss on his cut. Williams also said he has a rematch clause with Rosario and intends to exercise it.  source: fox
