Queensberry Promotions confirmed that Billy Joe Saunders’ next fight will be still be against Shefat Isufi at super middleweight, but it will be postponed. According to Queensberry, "With the widely reported changes in Billy Joe Saunders’ training situation and the current status of the WBO super middleweight title, this fight will not take place on April 13th at the SSE Arena, Wembley as was previously announced. The fight will be moved to a new date in May at a venue to be confirmed at a later date." Saunders [pictured] vs. Isufi was orininally announced as a battle for the WBO 168-pound championship recently vacated by Gilberto Ramirez. Isufi is widely unknown and lightly credentialed for a world title fight, so the the fight did not capture the public's attention. Now, however, Ramirez says he never vacated the title, although he is moving up in weight for his next fight.
