Bensalem, PA card taking shape

The 1300-seat Excite Center at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania will host a boxing show on June 15th. According to Hall of Fame promoter Russell Peltz, the show will include a six-round super middleweight bout between Omar Kabary Salem (9-0) of Brooklyn, NY, and respected journeyman Jamaal Davis (18-14-1) of Harrisburg, PA. Peltz said, Lightweight Jerome COnquest (10-3) and flyweight Miguel Cartagena (15-5-1) are already booked for separate bouts on the show. Conquest faces Frank Trader (12-2-1) while Cartagena is booked against Jesus Soler (10-1-1).

Peltz said, "We don't look to build fighters at Parx or fill our cards with a bunch of 'paid fights' in which a manager pays the expenses for an entire fight in order to get his own fighter an easy win. Parx Casino cards are about 50-50 matchups and we've already had more than our share of upsets, beginning in 2018 when lightweight Jerome Conquest lost to Tyrone Luckey and junior middleweight Isaiah Wise was toppled by Anthony Prescott (they fought to a draw in a rematch). Flyweight Miguel Cartagena suffered an eighth-round knockdown one year ago which cost him in a split decision loss to Carlos Maldonado. We cannot forget Brian Howard's shocking knockout win last March over Garrett Wilson in the cruiserweight main event."
